Prior to the prominent event, international media published a range of reports, saying the city of Hanoi is bustling with final preparation for the historic event. Streets were cleaned, flowers and greenery were on display, important buildings were repainted and security was tightened.

Vietnam affirmed its role of a world peace partner. This was the assessment of many international journalists covering this event. 

The DPRK-USA summit was not only politically and diplomatically significant, but also a golden opportunity to promote Vietnam to international friends.

With a good reception and favourable conditions for international journalists to report, Hanoi portrayed an image of a peaceful capital city, and conveyed its desire for peace and stability in the region and the world.-VNA
