Vietnam got two more medals on the second day of the ongoing Asian Games (ASIAD) 2018 in Indonesia, raising the country’s total medals to four but it still dropped to the 16th place in the medal tally as of 22:00 on August 20.

Weight lifter Thach Kim Tuan, a hope of gold medal for Vietnam, only bagged silver in the men’s 56kg event.

Meanwhile, swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang won bronze in the men’s 800m freestyle event.

As of 22:00 on August 20, Vietnamese athletes owned one silver and three bronze medals, ranking 16th in the medal list.

China continued leading the list with 15 gold, 12 silver and 9 bronze medals, followed by Japan with 8 gold, 11 silver and 11 bronze medals, and the Republic of Korea with 5 gold, 9 silver and 10 bronze medals.
