SEA Games 32 concluded with a resounding success for Vietnam’s sports delegation, which finished at the top of the overall medal tally with 136 gold, 105 silver, and 118 bronze medals. It was Vietnam’s most impressive SEA Games achievement to date, especially notable because the country was not the host nation yet still secured the top spot.

Thailand placed second with 108 gold, 96 silver, and 108 bronze medals, followed by Indonesia in third with 87 gold, 80 silver, and 109 bronze. Host nation Cambodia made history by finishing fourth with 81 gold, 74 silver, and 127 bronze medals - its best performance ever.

Looking ahead to SEA Games 33, Vietnam has set an ambitious goal of winning between 91 and 110 gold medals. The objective is to maintain its place among the top-performing nations in the region and to reaffirm the country’s stature on the Southeast Asian sports stage.

Vietnam’s U22 men's football team also received considerable attention, with recent changes to match venues and schedules due to flooding in Thailand. The disruption has forced organizers to shift venues for Group B and make adjustments to accommodate team withdrawals, directly affecting Vietnam's campaign.

Meanwhile, Vietnam’s women's and U22 men’s teams have demonstrated their sportsmanship by donating 100 million VND (approximately 4,000 USD) to support communities recently impacted by severe floods.
