
In the championship final, held in the early hours of March 17, Tran Quyet Chien faced world No. 1 Dick Jaspers, while Bao Phuong Vinh played against De Bruijn. Both matches took place simultaneously.
Dick Jaspers made an impressive start, scoring a nine-point streak in his first turn, taking an early lead over Tran Quyet Chien. After 12 turns, the Dutch world champion was ahead 20-9 when the match went into a break.
The resilience of the Vietnamese champion showed in the second set, as Quyet Chien improved his play.
Notably, in the 14th turn, he scored an 11-point streak, surpassing Jaspers for the first time in the match with a 22-21 lead.
However, in the 19th turn, while attempting to extend his lead, Tran Quyet Chien missed a critical shot at 33 points. Seizing the opportunity, Dick Jaspers immediately responded with a nine-point run, pulling ahead 39-33 before securing a narrow 40-38 victory.
On the adjacent table, Bao Phuong Vinh also suffered a defeat against De Bruijn, losing 34-40 after 28 turns. This was the only loss for the Binh Duong-born player in six matches at the 2025 World Three-Cushion Carom Billiards Team Championship.
With these results, Vietnam lost 0-2 to the Netherlands and was unable to defend its championship title.
