Within the framework of the opening ceremony of the VFCD, representatives of the Australian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and RMIT University Vietnam gave design awards to four young local talents.

The contest was part of a here/there multicultural art and design project launched within the framework of VFCD 2021, bringing together Australian and Vietnamese artists.

This year marks the fifth edition of VFCD initiated by RMIT University Vietnam.

During the one-week festival, audiences will engage in a range of exhibitions, seminars, and talks to explore the essential role of design at the intersection between technology and humanity.

Participants are also encouraged to join the exploration and dialogues on how technology is changing the way humans design.

Opening with the theme of Mind & Machine, VFCD 2023 will be held from November 13 to 19 in Ho Chi Minh City, before moving to Hanoi from December 1 to 7.

Initiated in 2019, VFCD has contributed to driving partnerships and projects among organisations and individuals in the cultural-creative sector in Vietnam.

VFCD 2023 is organised by RMIT University Vietnam in collaboration with UNESCO, the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies (VICAS), and other partners in the creative industries, with Hanoi Grapevine serving as both the media partner and organisational adviser.
