The task force will coordinate with relevant agencies and experts to draft, develop and finalize a power sector restructuring plan designed to support the development of a competitive electricity market at different levels.

The head of the task force will directly oversee preparation of the plan and promptly report to the Minister of Industry and Trade on progress and the results of assigned tasks.

The standing deputy head will act on behalf of the task force leader to direct and urge members to develop and finalize the plan, while reporting progress and results to the head of the task force.

Members will carry out duties assigned by the task force leader and provide updated information and data related to the functions and responsibilities of their respective agencies and organizations to support preparation of the plan.

At the same time, members will be responsible for conducting research and providing feedback to help finalize the power sector restructuring plan for the development of a competitive electricity market at different levels.

The decision states that the task force consists of 49 members. Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Truong Thanh Hoai will serve as its head.

The deputy heads are Nguyen Duc Cuong, Director General of the Electricity Authority, and Trinh Quoc Vu, Deputy Director General of the Electricity Authority.

Other members include representatives from relevant units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Home Affairs, as well as Vietnam Electricity (EVN), Vietnam National Industry-Energy Group, Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group, power generation corporations, power corporations, the National System and Market Operator (NSMO), the National Power Transmission Corporation and other relevant organizations.
