The organisers of the Vietnam Golden Ball Awards 2019 gala have made the decision to delay the event amid the ongoing fears surrounding the spread of the coronavirus (nCoV).

Do Hung Dung of Hanoi FC is one of the Top 5 contenders in the men’s football category.

 

 

Whilst the original awards gala was scheduled to take place on February 13, there is currently no information as to when the new date for the event will be announced.

With the voting for the awards already complete, the Top 5 contenders in the men’s football category include Quang Hai, Van Hau, Hung Dung, and Van Quyet of Hanoi FC, in additition to Trong Hoang of Viettel FC.

Elsewhere in the Vietnamese Women’s Golden Ball Award 2019, the Top 5 finalists have been named as Chuong Thi Kieu, Huynh Nhu, and Tran Thi Kim Thanh of Ho Chi Minh City FC, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung of Phong Phu Ha Nam FC, and Pham Hai Yen of Hanoi FC.

This delay of the event comes after the Fair Play 2019 awards gala was also postponed on February 3 in a bid to combat the potential spread of the nCoV. VOV
