On November 24, the 105th Asian Athletics Council Meeting concluded in Hanoi, marking a significant event for regional athletics and setting strategic directions through to 2030. The meeting, hosted by the Vietnam Athletics Federation, welcomed President Al-Hamad along with leading athletics officials from across Asia.

Nguyen Manh Hung, General Secretary of the Vietnam Athletics Federation, presented several key proposals aimed at advancing athletics development in the country. These included expanding grassroots programs in schools and organizing more road-running events. He also proposed that the Asian Athletics Association recommend high-quality training venues to help Vietnamese athletes strive for gold medals at the Asian Games and meet Olympic qualification standards.
President Al-Hamad praised Vietnam as an active and committed member of the athletics community. He acknowledged the country's growing contributions and emphasized its substantial potential to rise within both the Asian and global sporting landscapes.
