According to statistics, Vietnamese people spend over 2 billion USD each year on medical treatments and interventions overseas. Meanwhile, domestic health care services have been attracting foreign and overseas Vietnamese in recent years.
In 2018 alone, there were over 300,000 foreigners and Vietnamese overseas travelling to Vietnam for intensive medical treatment, with one sixth of them requiring inpatient treatment. Foreign patients often look to have complex services, namely cardiovascular intervention, dental treatment, and surgical and cosmetic procedures done here.
To attract more patients, Vietnam’s healthcare system must step up their game in the coming time.-VNA
