The Ministry of Public Security has imported 81 fire engines worth VND500 billion (USD21.73 million) from South Korea.
The vehicles will be brought to Vietnam early next week.

The order includes 18 large-sized fire engines with water storage capacity of up to 4,500 litres each; 48 medium-sized vehicles which store 3,000 litres of water, eight with 33-metre extendable ladders and seven rescue cars.
Rescue cars are equipped with nearly 200 tools such as lifebuoys, diving equipment and drilling machines.
The purchase is part of efforts to improve fire and rescue capacity approved by the government in 2015. The project uses official development assistance from the Economic Development Co-operation Fund.
The fire engines will be distributed to Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Thua Thien-Hue, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Binh Dinh and Quang Ngai.
