This is a series of events jointly held by the Vietnam Information Security Association (VNISA) – the Southern Branch and the HCMC Department of Information and Communications under the instruction of the HCMC People’s Committee.

The series will begin with the national contest ‘Students with Information Security’ for students of all universities and colleges nationwide, organized in Hanoi, Da Nang City, and HCMC by VNISA and the Ministry of Education and Training. 70 teams from 31 educational institutes registered for this competition.

On November 22, there will be a conference on the latest issues of information security, the current status and necessary solutions by leading international service providers to be applied in the southern region, the introduction of ‘artificial intelligence in ensuring cyber security’ and ‘information security in Internet of Things’.

According to Ms. Vo Thi Trung Trinh, Deputy Director of the HCMC Department of Information and Communications, the city is in the process to transform into a smart city, leading to the needs of various solutions related to artificial intelligence and smart devices, along with their cyber security, to ensure the safety of the critical databases as well as infrastructure.

“It is not merely the responsibility of the local authorities, but the collaboration of different sectors such as businesses and the whole community that the task of ensuring information security can be best fulfilled.

In the near future, the metropolitan authorities are going to form an organization specialized on cyber security for this task”, said Ms. Trinh.
