Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has affirmed that Vietnam always exerts best efforts to assist Laos in national development, and strengthen bilateral fraternal ties and effective coordination at regional and global forums. 

 The effective cooperation between the Presidential Offices of Laos and Vietnam has contributed to bolstering the long-standing friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, said President Tran Dai Quang.

 Vietnam has almost completed a project to increase and upgrade border markers along its boundary with Laos, Deputy Defence Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh said on December 7.

 High-ranking officers from the border guard forces of Vietnam and Laos held their 12 th annual talks in Vientiane, Laos, on November 10 to seek promoted coordination to protect shared border areas. 

 Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong arrived in central Da Nang city on July 13, beginning his six-day visit to Vietnam.
