Notably, 225 representatives of organizations and individuals were honored for their outstanding contributions to social welfare initiatives.

Looking back at the 2024-2026 period, social welfare efforts were carried out amid particularly challenging circumstances, as increasingly unpredictable natural disasters, storms and floods repeatedly caused severe losses of life, property and livelihoods.

These challenges required social assistance programs to respond rapidly and effectively, addressing immediate essential needs while helping affected communities rebuild homes, restore production and achieve long-term stability.

Responding to appeals from the Presidium of the VFF Central Committee and campaigns launched by the organization and implemented by Fatherland Front committees at all levels, the Vietnamese tradition of mutual assistance and solidarity continued to be strongly demonstrated.

Thousands of businesses, organizations, individuals, domestic communities and overseas Vietnamese contributed funds, goods, construction materials and volunteer labor to support disadvantaged families.

These collective efforts, ranging from emergency relief and housing assistance to livelihood support, Lunar New Year assistance and activities honoring people who have rendered service to the nation, provided valuable additional resources for social welfare programs during a period of considerable uncertainty.

At the ceremony, VFF Central Committee President Bui Thi Minh Hoai officially launched the 2026 Month for the Poor campaign.

She called on government agencies, organizations, businesses, philanthropists and overseas Vietnamese communities to continue contributing to the Fund for the Poor and other social welfare programs.

The campaign aims to encourage and support people living in poverty, disadvantaged groups and vulnerable communities in their efforts to achieve sustainable poverty reduction and improve their living standards.
