The photo exhibition titled “Vietnam - Member of the United Nations Human Rights Council: Respect and Understanding. Dialogue and Cooperation. All Human Rights - For All People” officially opened on October 13, 2025 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Jointly organized by the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the exhibition aims to present to international friends a comprehensive portrait of a modern, humane, integrated, and dynamic Vietnam.
It also honors Vietnam’s cultural, historical, and human values as part of its journey toward inclusive, sustainable, and human-centered development.
The event attracted over 70 ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions in New York, along with more than 300 international guests. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang presided over the opening ceremony.
The exhibition takes place as Vietnam serves on the UN Human Rights Council for the 2023–2025 term and is actively campaigning for reelection for the 2026–2028 term, reflecting the country's long-standing commitment to cooperation and global human rights protection.
The exhibition provides global audiences with a powerful visual narrative of Vietnam’s identity — one that is rooted in tradition yet embracing integration and progress.
A visual dialogue on Vietnam: Identity, humanity, and integration

More than 50 artistic photographs are on display, capturing the natural beauty, cultural heritage, and dynamic spirit of the Vietnamese people.
From the majestic Ha Long Bay and northern terraced fields, to the historic charm of Hoi An Ancient Town and the bustling metropolises of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, each photo tells a compelling story of the fusion between tradition and modernity.
The exhibition’s message, “Respect and Understanding. Dialogue and Cooperation. All Human Rights - For All People,” reflects Vietnam’s core values of humanity, tolerance, and cultural diversity.
Several photographs specifically highlight Vietnam’s achievements in advancing human rights, including gender equality, child rights, education, healthcare, ethnic minority development, and climate change adaptation.
These works serve as vivid evidence of Vietnam’s unwavering efforts to implement the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The exhibition also creates a platform for engagement and cultural exchange, allowing international guests and the Vietnamese community in New York to learn more about Vietnam’s contributions and priorities at the UN.
Supporting Vietnam’s bid for the 2026–2028 Human Rights Council term

The exhibition is a central activity within Vietnam’s campaign to seek reelection to the UN Human Rights Council for the 2026–2028 term.
Beyond promoting the country’s image and humanitarian policies, it conveys Vietnam’s aspiration to be seen as a responsible, proactive member of the global human rights community.
Through this exhibition, Vietnam shares its best practices and inclusive development experience, in alignment with the UN Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The country also reaffirms its commitment to global efforts to promote human rights based on respect for sovereignty, non-interference, equality, and mutually beneficial cooperation, contributing to a peaceful, just, and humane world for all.
This exhibition is part of a broader series of cultural events organized by the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Vietnam’s overseas diplomatic missions, marking the conclusion of Vietnam’s 2023–2025 Human Rights Council membership and its bid for the 2026–2028 term.
