Rear Admiral Nguyen Van Bach, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Vietnam People's Navy, has been transferred and appointed Director of the General Department of Defense Industry.

Major General Huynh Tan Hung, Deputy Director of the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services, has been appointed Political Commissar of the department.

Colonel Le Van Son, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 2, has been appointed Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 2.

Major General Tran Minh Trong, Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 5, has been transferred and appointed Political Commissar of the 34th Army Corps.

Terms of service extended

The Prime Minister extended the active-duty service of Lieutenant General Tran Minh Duc, Director of the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services, allowing him to remain in his current position through the end of November 2027.

Major General Tran Van Xuan, Deputy Political Commissar and Director of the Political Department of the Vietnam Coast Guard; Major General Le Van Long, Deputy Commander of Military Region 3; and Major General Dam Xuan Tuan, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard, have had their terms extended until they reach the statutory active-duty age.

Senior officers leave posts or retire

Lieutenant General Do Van Thien will step down as Political Commissar of the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services and cease working from November 1 ahead of his official retirement on January 1, 2027.

The Prime Minister also approved the retirement of Lieutenant General Ho Quang Tuan, Director of the General Department of Defense Industry, effective October 1.
