Speaking at the opening of the annual discussion session on women's rights and social security, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu, Head of the Vietnamese Delegation emphasized that social security rights and the principle of non-discrimination have affirmed in the Constitution and laws of Vietnam.

Vietnamese women, through their organizations, have contributed to the development and implementation of development and social security policies with many outstanding results on the international and regional levels. At the annual discussion session on climate change and food rights, the Head of the Vietnamese delegation introduced Vietnam's efforts to overcome the negative impacts of climate change, the Covid-19 pandemic and other global issues. other needs to ensure food security for people, and become a country that produces and supplies food transparently - responsibly - sustainably, as committed at the UN Summit on Food Systems food in 2021.

Sharing with many opinions of the international community on the role of food system transformation in responding to climate change, Assistant Minister Nguyen Minh Vu said that this work needs to take into account specific circumstances. entities of each country and locality and ensure the participation of relevant parties, taking advantage of investment and innovation resources.

At the beginning of the dialogue of the Council of Nations with the Special Rapporteur on the issue of extreme poverty, the Head of the Vietnamese delegation affirmed the important role of ensuring employment and generating income in poverty eradication efforts; Countries need to ensure people's right to work, especially in the context of post-pandemic recovery.

Assistant Minister Nguyen Minh Vu also shared Vietnam's experience with achievements recognized by the international community; including Vietnam's approach of eliminating multi-dimensional poverty to ensure sustainable poverty eradication achievements and prevent the risk of falling back into poverty; and create conditions for the private sector, communities, development partners and stakeholders to accompany the State in mobilizing greater resources, creating more sustainable employment opportunities for people.
