Global Beauties, an online magazine for international beauty, has announced that Vietnam was ranked 24, up from its previous 35, in the latest list of global beauty.

Recently, Tran Ngoc Lan Khue, winner of Miss Ao dai Vietnam – The Way to Miss World Crown in 2015, helped improve the ranking of Vietnam in this global vote thanks to her being in the Top 11 finalists of Miss World 2015 in China. The results were based on all the international beauty pageants in the past ten years, from 2006 to 2015.
According to regulations of Global Beauties, there were beauty scores for beauty queen (seven points), first runner-up (5 points), second runner-up (4 points) and other runner-ups (three points each).
Any semi-finalist enjoyed two points while quarter-finalists had one point. Moreover, any extra prize at the coronation night received 0.1 point.
Since 2006, Vietnam has sent many beauties to global contests. Mai Phuong Thuy who was in the Top 17 of Miss World in 2006 got two points.
Tran Thi Huong Giang in the Top 16 of Miss World in 2009 gained two points.
Nguyen Thi Loan in the Top 25 of Miss World in 2014 received one point.
Tran Ngoc Lan Khue in the Top 11 of Miss World 2015 had one point and local designer Ly Qui Khanh who helped create costumes for Khue at the contest also received 0.1 point as he was awarded the best designer at the event. The total score for Vietnam at the moment is 7.1 points.
