Hang said the fire occurred at about 2:30 on April 3 at Ratchethewri apartment building in Bangkok, Thailand, killing three people and injuring 60 others.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand immediately worked with local authorities to ask for verification and search for Vietnamese citizens, she stressed.
The three dead victims were identified as not Vietnamese, Hang said, adding that among the wounded were 13 Vietnamese citizens.
Right in the afternoon of April 3, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Nguyen Hai Bang visited and gave support to the Vietnamese injured victims who were being treated at local hospitals.
A number of victims had been discharged from hospitals by April 5 while the remainders are still undergoing treatment.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has asked the embassy to keep a close watch on the case, get regular updates from local authorities and hospitals, and take necessary steps to protect Vietnamese citizens, she said.-VNA
