The country’s automobile registrar told importers and assembling plants to remove the map because it violated Vietnam’s island sovereignty.
Presently, Vietnam Customs and the Ministry of Finance are waiting for the government’s opinion on the re-export of BAIC, Zotye, Volkswagen Touareg which have installed the map showing the “nine-dash line”
The Vietnam Customs proposed the Ministry of Transport and the Vietnam Register to supervise and handle the map in the above-mentioned cars.
Made- in- China Zotye and BAIC cars have been seen on the streets while Volkswagen Touareg has been imported, showcased at Vietnam AutoExpo 2019 and waiting for re-export.
Coursebooks with ‘nine-dash line’ to be withdrawn
The Hanoi University of Business and Technology November 3 decided to withdraw all the coursebooks of the Chinese language courses after finding out that the materials include a map containing the illegal ‘nine-dash line.
The maps containing illicit nine-dash line in the coursebooks named ‘Developing Chinese’ for freshmen in Hanoi University of Business and Technology (HUBT)'s Chinese-Japanese Department had stirred up the public.
The Vice Rector of HUBT Vu Van Hoa announced to withdraw about 500-700 books.
The books were published by Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) and approved by HUBT management board for the academic year 2019-2020.
Previously, HUBT lecturers and students had had a refresher course in Beijing to understand the new coursebooks. SGGP
