Recently, websites such as newsvitality.info and tinnguoiviet.net in the Vietnamese and Chinese versions have given information that Taiwan (China) will temporarily stop receiving Vietnamese workers from March 1, 2019, due to a high rate of workers fleeing after the expiry of their labour contracts. Through verification, these websites were found to often give false information about Vietnamese workers in markets of Taiwan (China), Japan and the RoK.

Thus, the Department of Overseas Labour under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs officially recommends that workers and enterprises seek verification from the authorised agencies of Vietnam or Taiwan (China) when reading information from such unofficial websites. In particular, it is advisable not to arbitrarily share or duplicate unverified information on social networking sites in order to avoid creating negative effects and disturbing public opinion.

More than 60,300 Vietnamese workers were sent to Taiwan (China) in 2018 including more than 19,000 female workers. Taiwan (China) was the second largest recipient of Vietnamese workers, after Japan, in the past year.
