The book provides key statistics about ICT development in Vietnam in 2015 and 2016, covering IT application, IT industry, ICT research and training, legal documents, ICT programmes and projects, international cooperation, and ICT agencies and organisations, among others.

This year’s white book was also added with some new criteria, such as online public services, IT application in businesses, TV ratings, and data on the development of IT services, in accordance with international practice.

Meanwhile, some information already publicised in other publications was excluded from the book.

The book’s English version is set to be released in October. The papers will also be posted on the MoIC’s website in the time ahead.

MoIC Minister Truong Minh Tuan said the white book is a basis for not only Vietnamese people but also foreigners and investors to have an insight into ICT facts in Vietnam so that they can consider investment in this sector.

He added that 400 copies of the book will be distributed to ministries, sectors, localities, some associations, businesses and foreign organisations with ICT-related activities, and embassies with ICT cooperation with the country.
