Authorities in Dong Nai Province announced on March 24 that they had coordinated with border guards to receive 344 Vietnamese citizens handed over by Cambodian authorities.

Most of those repatriated were detained during a recent large-scale inspection and crackdown on crime. The majority are freelance workers who had crossed into Cambodia seeking employment but were deceived by promises of “easy jobs with high pay.” Instead, they were subjected to coercion, labor exploitation, and difficult living conditions. All expressed a desire to return home.

Following their return, authorities conducted initial screening procedures and began further investigations in accordance with the law.

During the process, officials identified four individuals among the 344 who were wanted under arrest warrants issued by police in various provinces and cities.

Dong Nai police, in coordination with border forces, have urged the public to remain vigilant and thoroughly verify information before seeking employment abroad. Authorities cautioned against trusting enticing offers circulating on social media, warning that such schemes are often part of sophisticated transnational criminal operations.
