Under the decision, several leadership positions and roles within the committee were adjusted.

Party General Secretary and State President To Lam continues serving as head of the steering committee.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung serves as deputy head of the committee.

Nguyen Duy Ngoc, head of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission, was appointed standing deputy head of the committee.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang and Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son continue as committee members.

The committee also added several new members.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Do Van Chien and Chief of the Party Central Committee Office Nguyen Hai Ninh were appointed deputy heads of the committee.

New committee members include Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung; Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung; Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan; Finance Minister Ngo Van Tuan; Minister of Industry and Trade Le Manh Hung; Minister of Agriculture and Environment Trinh Viet Hung; Tran Hong Thai, president of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and deputy head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission; and Le Van Loi, president of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and deputy head of the same commission.

According to the decision, several officials will no longer serve on the committee, including former Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang, former National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Hai, former Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and former Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung.

The duties and authority of committee members following the restructuring will comply with Regulation No. 230 issued by the Politburo regarding the functions, responsibilities and powers of the Central Steering Committee on Science and Technology Development, Innovation and Digital Transformation.
