Under the agreement, the two sides will foster cooperation in regional and international football activities, exchange personnel and send more experts to the two countries’ football events.

In addition, the two football organisations agreed to send experienced trainers to support the national football academies, share experience in football management and regulations, as well as knowledge on sport medicine and rehabilitation.

At the signing ceremony, VFF President Le Hung Dung said that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing forms part of the State visit of RoK President Moon Jae-in to Vietnam.

He highly valued the Vietnam-RoK football cooperation, with various exchanges and training courses for national teams, among others. Coach Park Hang-seo and his assistants from the RoK have greatly contributed to the silver medal of the Vietnamese squad at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23 Championship last January, Dung added.

He also voiced his belief that the MoU will result in more pragmatic and effective cooperation between the VFF and the KFA.

For his part, KFA President Chung Mong-gyu said the deal will enhance Vietnam-RoK cooperation in personnel, young player training and other issues.

He vowed that his association will provide support for Vietnam’s football development. - VNA
