Thang made this assessment during the AI Awards 2025 ceremony held on September 26, where he served as a member of the jury panel.

The AI Awards, organized annually by VnExpress since 2022, is part of the broader Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Festival (AI4VN). Over its three-year run, the awards have recognized outstanding AI solutions across sectors such as education, healthcare, public services, and commerce.

This year’s awards expanded to include four main categories: Vietnamese AI Solutions, Outstanding AI Devices, Vietnamese AI Engineers, and Notable AI Enterprises.

Strong field reflects Vietnam’s AI maturity

Entries undergo multiple rounds of screening, public voting, expert evaluation, and a final round. The judging panel includes technology experts, business leaders, journalists, and investors, who assess entries based on creativity, applicability, execution effectiveness, and social impact.

According to the organizers, the AI Awards 2025 affirm Vietnam’s vibrant and serious AI research and innovation scene across academia and industry. Notably, the number of submissions doubled compared to 2024, reflecting a robust AI development trajectory.

“The technological level demonstrated by this year’s contestants is very consistent, showcasing that our access to advanced technology is on par with global standards,” Thang remarked, referring to the hundreds of applications submitted for the competition.

He added that many products showcased thoughtful, realistic concepts from the outset, directly addressing everyday needs in business management and finance.
