The Central Inspection Commission announced that it held a personnel meeting on October 7 to disclose the Politburo's decision approving the appointment of Tran Van Phuc, a commission member, as deputy chairman of the 14th Central Inspection Commission for the 2026-2031 term.

Thanh said the Politburo's decision to entrust Phuc with the new responsibility recognized his years of dedication, professional development and contributions to Party inspection, supervision and disciplinary work.

He expressed hope that Phuc would continue demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility, political resolve and professional expertise in his new position, working closely with other commission members to maintain unity and successfully fulfill their assigned duties.

The Central Inspection Commission currently has nine deputy chairpersons: Tran Tien Hung, who serves as standing deputy chairman, Nguyen Hong Linh, Tran Thi Hien, Ha Quoc Tri, Doan Anh Dung, Nghiem Xuan Thanh, Nguyen Minh Quang, Le Van Thanh and Tran Van Phuc.

Born in 1978 in Hanoi, Phuc previously served as deputy director of the police department responsible for investigating corruption, economic crimes and smuggling, as well as director of the Thai Binh Provincial Police.

In August 2024, he was appointed director of the Quang Ninh Provincial Police. He was promoted to the rank of major general in July 2025.

In October 2025, Phuc was elected a member of the 13th Central Inspection Commission by the Communist Party's Central Committee during a meeting of its 13th tenure.
