President Luong Cuong joins world leaders at Tiananmen Square to commemorate a historic milestone and promote global peace.
This morning, at Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China hosted a grand ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the global victory over fascism.

At the invitation of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, Vietnamese President Luong Cuong and a high-level Vietnamese delegation attended the commemorative event.
President Luong Cuong took part in the official welcome ceremony and group photo session with other participating heads of delegations.
Vietnam, having endured prolonged and arduous wars for national independence, deeply understands the value of freedom, peace, and sovereignty. The Vietnamese people greatly respect the sacrifices made by nations around the world in the struggle against fascism, oppression, and exploitation.
The President’s participation at this event reflects Vietnam’s responsible voice and support for global efforts to promote peace, security, and development. It also reaffirms Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification and multilateralism, and active, comprehensive, effective international integration. Vietnam continues to make positive and responsible contributions to regional and global peace and cooperation.

In his welcome speech, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping expressed deep gratitude to the veterans who fought in the war and to the international friends who supported the anti-fascist movement.
He emphasized that history reminds us the destiny of humankind is a shared one, and only through equality, harmony, and mutual support can global security be safeguarded, the roots of war eradicated, and historic tragedies prevented from recurring.
President Xi affirmed that China steadfastly stands on the side of historical justice and the progress of human civilization, continues to pursue peaceful development, and is committed to working with people of all countries to build a shared future for humanity.
A large-scale military parade followed, featuring numerous modern weapons from the People’s Liberation Army. President Xi inspected the troops along Chang’an Avenue, where 45 formations representing ground, naval, air defense, missile, electronic warfare, unmanned systems, logistics, equipment support, and strategic assault forces took part.
