This sharp increase of more than USD 44 million reflects a highly polarized market, where several local titles soared past the 200 billion VND (USD 8 million) mark while others floundered.

At the top of the chart, two films alone - Red Rain (Mưa đỏ) and The 4 Rascals (Bộ tứ báo thủ) - accounted for over 1,000 billion VND (USD 40 million) in combined ticket sales. Red Rain dominated with a staggering 714 billion VND (USD 28.5 million), nearly doubling the earnings of its runner-up.

"Red Rain" set an unprecedented milestone by becoming the highest-grossing Vietnamese film of all time. The film drew more than 8 million viewers in under six weeks, achieving this feat in record time. It surpassed The 4 Rascals in just 10 days to become the year’s top-grossing film and took only 17 days to dethrone Mai as the highest-grossing film in Vietnamese box office history.

"Death Battle in the Air" (Tử chiến trên không), released on September 19, surged to third place with 251 billion VND (USD 10 million) in revenue. It was followed closely by Detective Kien: The Headless Case (Thám tử Kiên - Kỳ án không đầu) with 248 billion VND (USD 9.9 million), and The Ancestral Home (Nhà gia tiên) - starring Phuong My Chi and directed by Huynh Lap - which grossed 242 billion VND (USD 9.7 million).

Director Ly Hai returned with the eighth installment of the Face Off series (Lat Mat 8 - Vòng tay nắng - Face off 8: Embrace of Light), earning 232 billion VND (USD 9.3 million). Although it did not match the performance of Lat Mat 7, it still secured sixth place on the list.

Despite fierce competition from Tran Thanh’s The 4 Rascals, director Thu Trang’s Lunar New Year comedy The Billion-dollar Kiss (Nụ hôn bạc tỷ) held its ground in seventh place, raking in 211 billion VND (USD 8.4 million).

In what became a major surprise of the year-end season, the action film "The Search for Ambergris" (Truy tìm long diên hương), starring Doan Quoc Dam, continuously broke box office records. As of December 15, the film had amassed 203 billion VND (USD 8.1 million) just one month after its release.

In ninth place, The Tunnel – Sun in the Shadows (Địa đạo - Mặt trời trong bóng tối), directed by Bui Thac Chuyen, earned 172 billion VND (USD 6.9 million) after becoming a hit during the A50 cinema week.

Rounding out the top 10 is Take Mom Away (Mang mẹ đi), a Vietnam–Korea romantic collaboration that made 171 billion VND (USD 6.8 million).
