The Republic of Korea (ROK) football club Ansan Mugunghwa FC has announced they have come to terms for a 2-year deal with Vietnam star defender Le Duc Luong.
“I am happy with the deal. K.League is well known as one of the tough tournaments (in Asia) and I hope I can meet the requirement,” Luong said. “I need to prove my ability and adjust in the first 10 days of the test. After getting the contract in my hands, I will think of the future.”
Appreciated for his speed and confidence, Luong has been under observation by Ansan Mugunghwa’s scouts since 2015. The 22-year-old, who used to be a player in Viet Nam’s U23 squad, will leave for South Korea on December 7.
Ansan Mugunghwa are the reigning champions of K-League Challenge, the second strongest tournament in the country, behind K-League Classic.
Lương will be the second Vietnamese player competing in South Korea. Previously, his teammate Luong Xuan Truong also moved to play for K-League Classic’s Incheon United.
