Vietnam endured a demanding battle against Indonesia at the AVC Nations Cup, requiring all five sets to secure a dramatic 3-2 victory.

Despite fielding their strongest lineup, including Tran Thi Thanh Thuy making her first start of this year's tournament, Vietnam struggled early and dropped the opening set 18-25. Indonesia played with confidence, combining disciplined defense with effective attacking play.

Vietnam continued to face difficulties in the second set, particularly as Thanh Thuy carried a heavy workload in both reception and attack. However, the emergence of Bich Thuy and Nhu Anh helped the team coached by Nguyen Tuan Kiet claim a 25-22 win and level the match.

The Vietnamese side found its rhythm in the third set. Attackers Thanh Thuy, Vi Quynh, Nguyen Uyen and Nhu Anh repeatedly broke through Indonesia's defense, powering Vietnam to a 25-18 victory and a 2-1 lead.

Just as Vietnam appeared poised to close out the match in the fourth set, Indonesia responded strongly, winning 25-19 to force a decisive fifth set.

In the crucial moments, Vietnam showed greater composure and resilience, edging Indonesia 15-13 to complete a memorable comeback victory.
