Fourteen international airports include Van Don (Quang Ninh Province), Hai Phong (Hai Phong City), Noi Bai (Ha Noi), Tho Xuan (Thanh Hoa Province), Phu Bai (Thua Thien-Hue Province), Da Nang (Da Nang City), Chu Lai (Quang Nam Province), Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa Province), Lien Khuong (Lam Dong Province), Long Thanh (Dong Nai Province), Tan Son Nhat (Ho Chi Minh City), Can Tho (Can Tho City) and Phu Quoc (Kien Giang Province).
Sixteen domestic airports consist of Lai Chau (Lai Chau Province), Dien Bien (Dien Bien Province), Sa Pa (Lao Cai Province), Na San (Son La Province), Dong Hoi (Quang Binh Province), Quang Tri (Quang Tri Province), Phu Cat (Binh Dinh Province), Tuy Hoa (Phu Yen Province), Pleiku (Gia Lai Province), Buon Ma Thuat (Dak Lak Province), Phan Thiet (Binh Thuan Province), Rach Gia (Kien Giang Province), Ca Mau (Ca Mau Province), Con Dao (Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province), Thanh Son (Ninh Thuan Province) and Bien Hoa (Dong Nai Province) with Thanh Son and Bien Hoa in the planning of dual-use operations.
By 2050, the nation will have 33 airports, with three more domestic airports including Cat Bi (Hai Phong City), Cao Bang (Cao Bang Province) and one more airport located in the south and southeast of Ha Noi.
