At a press conference on the upcoming exhibition and celebrations, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang stated that the National Day ceremony holds profound significance not only for Vietnam but also for progressive peoples around the world.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised state leaders on extending invitations to international guests. In addition to the six confirmed high-level delegations, more than 20 political parties and eight defense ministry delegations from various countries have also announced their attendance.

Preparations for welcoming international guests are being carried out by relevant authorities in line with the official schedule. Invitations have also been sent to ambassadors, diplomatic representatives, and international organizations in Hanoi, as well as members of the consular corps.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will invite a select group of international journalists to report on the celebrations and related events. This is also an opportunity for them to witness Vietnam's achievements over the past 80 years.

Regarding overseas Vietnamese participation, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang noted that around 50 Vietnamese expatriates from 18 countries and territories will take part in the parade for the first time in the history of National Day commemorations.

“We visited a training session to encourage and support them. The participants expressed immense pride and happiness to be involved in this significant national celebration, showing their responsibility as Vietnamese citizens even while living abroad,” she said.

Some elderly overseas Vietnamese who are unable to march due to health concerns will be arranged seating in the stands to observe the parade.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Xuan Bac, Director of the Department of Performing Arts, announced that his department is coordinating 13 parade groups, including those representing culture and sports. Many national artists, performers, singers, musicians, and beauty queens will participate.

He shared that enthusiasm is high, with artists from central and southern Vietnam booking their own flights to Hanoi just to join the parade. “Even rapper Den Vau reached out early to request participation. Singers such as Tang Duy Tan, Hoang Thuy Linh, Mono, and Lam Vy Da also expressed strong interest. Everyone is eager to contribute in their own way to this important event,” he said.

All parade groups are training with high morale and determination, undeterred by fluctuating weather conditions.

Regarding the exhibition titled “Vietnam’s achievements: 80 years of independence - freedom - happiness,” Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong stated the opening ceremony will be held at 9:00 a.m. on August 28 and will close at 8:00 p.m. on September 5.

The exhibition showcases Vietnam’s development across key sectors, such as industrial technology, investment and trade, agriculture and rural development, national defense and security, foreign affairs, health, education, culture, and tourism. It also features Vietnamese people, culture, and the richness of traditions from all 54 ethnic groups, along with national heritage and architecture.

Exhibits will also highlight Vietnam’s journey toward green transition and digital transformation, as well as achievements in aerospace, security, defense, and 12 cultural industries.

Presentation formats include large-scale panels, photos, diagrams, documents, artifacts, 3D mapping, virtual reality, multimedia displays, and digital applications enhanced by AI technologies.

According to Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong, this is an unprecedented event in terms of both scale and preparation timeline. The exhibition was organized in just over one month.

The event gathers participation from 34 provinces and cities, 28 ministries, 94 private enterprises, and 12 state-owned enterprises. Over 180 sectors and more than 230 booths will be represented.
