According to Box Office Vietnam, the film passed VND20 billion ($760,000) after one day, VND50 billion ($1.9 million) after two days, VND100 billion ($3.8 million) after just three and a half days, and VND200 billion ($7.6 million) on its eighth day in theaters.
Despite dominating the box office in recent days, The Journey of Heroes is still selling tickets at a slower pace than Mua do (Red Rain) and Tran Thanh's Mai. At its peak, Red Rain grossed nearly VND44 billion ($1.7 million) in a single day on Aug. 30, 2025, and crossed VND300 billion after 10 days in theaters. Mai, meanwhile, needed only eight days to reach the same milestone. Red Rain is a 2025 Vietnamese historical war drama.
According to Box Office Vietnam, in terms of daily screenings, The Journey of Heroes currently ranks behind Despicable Me 4, with 5,731 screenings, and Red Rain, with 5,702.
Even so, observers say The Journey of Heroes could eventually gross VND400 billion ($15.2 million), putting it on par with several of Tran Thanh's films and Ly Hai's Lat mat 7, if it maintains its box-office momentum and continues generating strong public discussion.
Meanwhile, the re-release of Avengers: Endgame, which returned to theaters at the same time as The Journey of Heroes, remains firmly in second place at the box office. It has now grossed VND302 billion ($11.5 million) in Vietnam, including revenue from its original theatrical release in April 2019.
Heart of the Beast, starring Brad Pitt, opened over the weekend with fewer screenings and could not compete with The Journey of Heroes. Still, the survival action film ranked third at the box office with nearly VND2 billion ($76,000) in revenue.
Fourth place went to Len huong, which has grossed VND93 billion ($3.5 million) ahead of its planned release at selected U.S. theaters from Oct. 9.
Ut Lan 2 rounded out the top five with VND43 billion ($1.6 million). The Vietnamese horror film was released nationwide on Sept. 25.
Thai film (Henry's First Dates, which opened over the weekend, ranked only eighth with less than VND1 billion ($38,000) in revenue.
