Vietnam topped the Southeast Asian Fencing Federation Championships, which closed in Singapore on September 6.





The Vietnamese athletes won five gold, six silver and seven bronze medals during the four-day competition.

Singapore came second and the Philippines were third.

The Vietnamese pocketed a gold in the men’s sabre team event on the last day.

With this result, Vietnam is king of sabre in the region, earlier winning all the top three positions in the individual category.

Singapore Team A came second. Thailand and the Philippines followed, respectively.

Vietnam women’s epee team bagged a silver after losing to the Philippines in the final match.

Singapore Team A and B shared third place.

In the men’s foil team, the Philippines triumphed again. Singapore Team A were second, while Vietnam and Malaysia grabbed bronze medals.
