After opening their campaign with a win over Timor-Leste, coach Yutaka Ikeuchi’s side once again showed their superiority, dominating possession and creating a constant stream of chances from the opening whistle.
Despite several missed opportunities, Vietnam finally broke the deadlock in the 29th minute. Rising highest inside the box, Tan Dung powered home a close-range header to give his side a deserved lead.

The goal lifted Vietnam’s confidence and they continued to dictate the tempo. Deep into first-half stoppage time, Duy Khang produced a skilful run inside the penalty area that unsettled Myanmar’s defence. Cong Hau reacted quickest to the loose ball and tapped into an empty net to double the advantage.
Vietnam carried their momentum into the second half and quickly extended the lead. Van Bach produced an excellent long-range finish in the 49th minute to make it 3-0.
The fourth goal arrived in the 63rd minute after Cong Hau was brought down in the box. Duy Khang calmly converted the penalty to put the result beyond doubt.
Myanmar struggled to create meaningful chances and rarely troubled goalkeeper Xuan Tin. Vietnam remained in complete control throughout the match.
The fifth and final goal came in the 85th minute when Thien Phu met a corner kick with a precise header into the far corner, sealing a comprehensive victory.
The win leaves Vietnam U19 in a strong position at the top of Group A ahead of a decisive clash with hosts Indonesia in the final group-stage match.
