Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh receives Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister Felix Plasencia
At the event, the two sides informed each other about their current domestic affairs and discussed future cooperation.
They agreed to continue working closely together in implementing joint projects and commitments reached by their senior leaders, particularly in the sectors of agriculture, energy and trade.
The diplomats also stressed the need to maintain activities of the inter-government committee and political consultations between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs.
The completion of legal frameworks for bilateral cooperation and further support for the formation of partnerships between Vietnamese and Venezuelan businesses were also tabled at the function.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual concern.
Later on the same day, Felix Plasencia was received by Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh, who was pleased with the outcome of the consultation.
While hailing the positive progress recorded in bilateral collaboration, Minh stated that Vietnam highly values the enhancement of trade-investment ties with Venezuela, particularly in agro-fishery, gas & oil, as well as in the production of consumer goods and construction materials.
He proposed the two countries support each other at multilateral forums and in international organisations such as the UN and the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC).
Having praised Vietnam’s reform achievements and improved position at the global arena, Felix Plasencia said his country considers Vietnam a top partner in Asia and welcomes Vietnamese-invested projects in Venezuela.
During their visit to Vietnam from December 13-15, the Venezuelan diplomats had separate meetings with Hoang Binh Quan, Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations, and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Quoc Khanh.
