Viet Nam beat Myanmar 4-0 in their first match at the M-150 Cup’s Group B, a friendly tournament for U23s, in Thailand, on Saturday.

Midfielder, Nguyen Quang Hai, scored a double in the first 45 minutes, before his teammates Phan Van Long and Nguyen Cong Phuong added two more goals in the second half.

With one goal and two assists to help Hai score, Phuong was voted the MVP of the game.

On Wednesday, Viet Nam will play Uzbekistan, who will play their first match against Myanmar today.

In a Group A match on Saturday, Thailand beat U20 Japan 2-1.

Saringkarn Promsupa and Chaiyawat Buran netted goals for Thailand, while Yuta Kamiya scored a goal for Japan.

Japan will face North Korea today, while the Thailand vs North Korea game is scheduled for Wednesday.

To advance to the next round of the tournament, the Vietnamese team must win or bring home a draw of at least 5-5 against Boeung Ket Angkor in the second leg match on Wednesday in Phnom Peng.
