Young talents selected from across Vietnam gather in Hanoi for the next stage of the recruitment process.

Following preliminary scouting rounds held across the country between June 4 and June 14 in four localities, 55 of the most promising candidates have been selected for the second phase of assessments taking place in Hanoi from June 19 to June 22.

The participants are part of a recruitment and talent identification program targeting girls born in 2013 and 2014. The initiative is one of the key activities under the FIFA Talent Development Scheme in Vietnam, designed to expand the pipeline of future players and help uncover a new generation of talents capable of following in the footsteps of Vietnam’s leading women footballers.

The nationwide selection process includes a series of specialized evaluations covering athletic ability, technical skill-based activities and 8v8 competitive matches. The assessments are intended to provide a comprehensive picture of each player’s potential and development capacity.

Those who perform best during the selection stage will move on to a modern, intensive training program led by Okiyama Masahiko, head coach of Vietnam’s youth women’s national teams.

According to Vietnam Football Federation Vice President Tran Anh Tu, the achievements of Vietnam’s women’s football teams in recent years have created a strong foundation for pursuing even greater ambitions in the future.

He stressed that identifying and developing young talent remains a top priority for the federation and is essential to maintaining long-term progress.

Tran Anh Tu expressed hope that the current generation of young players will produce many high-quality footballers capable of strengthening Vietnam’s youth national teams and eventually the senior women’s national team in the years ahead.
