Vietnam has jumped to the No.2 position in the Southeast Asian region as per FIFA’s October ranking, which was released on October 20.
With 231 points, the Vietnamese squad is placed at No 136 in the world, five steps higher than last month.
The top position among ASEAN member countries goes to the Philippines, who are world No 124. Thailand are third, down 11 steps to No 146 in the world.
There is only one change in the world top 10, with former world and European champions Spain jumping to No 10, replacing Wales.
Argentina maintain the No 1 position, followed by Germany and Brazil, both going up by one step. Belgium and Colombia are down to No 4 and No 5, respectively. Chile stay at No 6, while France are up one step at No 7, pushing European winner Portugal down to No 8.
