A Vietnamese air hostess has been arrested at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi while illegally carrying more than 3 kilos of gold to South Korea according to the airport's Customs Department.
The two gold traffickers Ngoc Anh and Sang.
Flight attendant Hoang Thi Ngoc Anh, 34, was arrested on July 26 evening together with a 30-year-old man named Nguyen Ngoc Sang after they were found hiding the gold under a seat in a flight numbered VN 416 which departed from Noi Bai to South Korea’s Incheon International Airport at 11.40 pm on July 26.
Anh and Sang earlier passed the security check points with the four gold bars wrapped in a black plastic bag unnoticed.
The two suspects told police they did not declare the gold bars to customs officials and planned to sell the bars in South Korea where prices are higher than in Vietnam.
Last March a pilot and a flight attendant of Vietnam Airlines were arrested in South Korea for smuggling 6 kilos of gold when entering Gimhae International Airport in Busan City.
