On January 7, Bamboo Airways was granted the Aircraft Operator Certificate (AOC) for commercial flights and joined Vietnam's skies.

In the first phase, it will operate 60 domestic flights a day including Hanoi-Quy Nho, Hanoi-HCM City, HCM City-Van Don and Hanoi-Dong Hoi routes. They will also launch international flights to Japan, Singapore and South Korea in 2019.

Bamboo Airways will be Vietnam’s first hybrid carrier, combining the traditional and low-cost models.
