A three-way cooperation agreement between the Vietnam Olympic Committee, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam and Vietcontent was signed on Sept. 7. Under the agreement, Revive, a sports drink brand owned by Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam, will become an official sponsor accompanying the Vietnamese sports delegation to the 20th Asian Games.
So far, the Vietnam Olympic Committee and the national sports delegation have secured three sponsors as part of their preparations for the Games.
Once all sponsorship funding has been finalized, the Vietnamese delegation will announce next week the official cash bonuses to be awarded for each medal won at the Asian Games.
Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet, Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration, said all funds raised from sponsors accompanying the Vietnamese delegation would be allocated to immediate cash bonuses aimed at encouraging coaches and athletes who win medals.
Vietnam will send a 498-member delegation to the Asian Games in Japan this September, including 348 athletes competing in athletics, swimming, weightlifting, shooting, rowing, canoeing, sepak takraw, karate, gymnastics, taekwondo, archery, boxing, wrestling, cycling, wushu, kurash, jujitsu, men’s and women’s indoor volleyball, men’s and women’s beach volleyball, men’s and women’s football, judo, golf, handball, badminton, fencing, sailing, teqball, esports, breaking and mixed martial arts.
