Number two seed Nguyen Tien Minh defeated Kittipong Imnark of Malaysia by a score of 21-15, 21-5, to advance to the men’s singles quarter-finals, where he will play another Malaysian, Kunlavut Vitidsarn.

His teammate, Phạm Cao Cuong, also progressed to the last-eight, after beating Chen Chi Ting of Chinese Taipei by 21-16, 16-21, 21-8. The number eight seed will face the qualifier, Gatjra Piliang Fiqihila Cupu, of Indonesia.

In the women’s competition, Vu Thi Trang progressed to the second round after defeating Tang Wan Yi of Chinese Taipei by 21-19, 21-19 yesterday. Her next opponent will be Sri Fatmawati of Indonesia.
