Le Anh Huy became the first Vietnamese contestant to perform at the Gala of the 19th ZhongSin International Music Competition, held at Star Theatre, Asia’s largest performing arts venue, with a seating capacity of over 5,000.

The competition’s grand finale took place in Singapore, attracting over 1,000 contestants from 25 countries, including the United States, Sweden, Canada, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, China, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, and Russia.

Vietnamese participants achieved remarkable success at the competition, securing 29 first prizes in categories such as piano, violin, vocals, drums, guitar, electric guitar, and traditional musical instruments.

They also won 27 second prizes in piano, vocals, and traditional instruments, along with six third prizes in piano and violin.

Judges and audiences were particularly impressed by Vietnam’s traditional musical performances. The Di San ensemble, featuring Pham Phuong Thanh, Dang Nhat Nguyen, Nguyen Huy Khanh, Nguyen Duc Minh, and Nguyen Duc Nam, won second place in the traditional instrument category for their performance on the dan Trung, a traditional Vietnamese bamboo xylophone.

Additionally, the competition organizers recognized six Vietnamese music teachers and art institutions for outstanding contributions to music education.

The ZhongSin International Music Competition, co-hosted by the National Arts Management Association of Singapore, the Chinese Musicians’ Association, and the International Music Management Association, aims to provide a prestigious platform for musicians and performers worldwide.

Established in 2006, it is one of the most professional and comprehensive music competitions in Singapore. Since 2023, Vietnam has officially been granted the rights to organize regional qualifying rounds.
