A Vietnamese film “Mot khu dat tot” (Blessed Land) is among the nominations in the short film category at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival, which will be held from February 7-12 in Berlin.

Directed by Pham Ngoc Lan, the 19 minutes film tells the story of an old woman seeking her late husband’s grave with her son and a short conversation between a businessman and his girlfriend at a golf course.

Cast members of the film include People's Artist Minh Chau, Thuy Anh, Huy Tien, and Hoang Ha.

Founded in 1951, Berlin International Film Festival is one of the most prestigious events in the world. This year, 24 short films of well-known directors from 17 countries across the world will compete for the Golden Bear, Silver Bear, Audi Short Film, and best European short film awards.

Born in 1986, Pham Ngoc Lan graduated from Hanoi Architecture University (HAU) in 2009 and became an independent filmmaker.

His two other works are “Cu Li Khong Bao Gio Khoc” (Cu Li Never Cries) and “Thanh pho khac” (Another City), which had also been listed for nominations and won prizes at international film festivals.
