To celebrate the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2), Google has selected top Vietnamese-developed mobile games for a special "Made in Vietnam" collection on the homepage of Google Play Games.
Google announced that this collection aims to “honor the limitless creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of Vietnamese game developers.” The showcase will go live on September 2 and highlights Vietnam’s rising prominence in the global gaming industry.
“The collection also serves as a tribute to the exceptional talents that have helped position Vietnam as one of the leading nations in the global game development arena,” Google stated.
Top Vietnamese studios featured in the collection include Falcon Game Studio, VNG Games, Spirit Bomb, and 1SOFT. The selected titles span a variety of genres, offering puzzles, challenges, and relaxing gameplay, alongside culturally inspired games rooted in traditional Vietnamese themes.
Among the notable games are Goods Puzzle - Sort Challenge, Co ca ngua ZingPlay (Vietnamese Ludo), Sky Garden, Screw Puzzle - Wood Nut & Bolt, Sky Champ - Sky Shooter, Dragon Wings - Space Shooter, and 1945 Air Force - Airplane Games.
According to Google, Vietnam’s gaming and mobile application industry has seen explosive growth and is becoming one of the country’s most valuable export sectors.
Google’s 2024 report on the impact of Google Play and Android in Vietnam revealed that out of 6.15 billion app downloads from Vietnamese creators last year, 5.7 billion came from international users.
In 2024, Vietnamese game developers generated revenues of approximately 2 trillion VND (about $78 million). Vietnamese-made apps and games accounted for 10.7% of total global app downloads.
Le Quang Tu Do, Director of the Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information (ABEI), stated that Google's “Made in Vietnam” initiative demonstrates “government support and the commitment of tech partners like Google in empowering Vietnamese creators and elevating Vietnam as a digital economy leader.”
Kunal Soni, Director of Partnerships and Ecosystem at Google Play for Asia-Pacific, praised the creativity of Vietnamese developers and reaffirmed Google's commitment to fostering the country’s digital growth.
