Two Vietnamese judokas left for Tunisia yesterday to compete in the judo Olympic qualifiers from January 12-18.

Nguyen Thi Quynh and Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy will compete in the women's 52kg category.

Following the competition, they will take part in tournaments in Hungary and Germany in the hunt for tickets to the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics.

Vietnamese athletes will compete at various tournaments in January with the ultimate goal of earning at least 15 places in Brazil.

They will also vie for Olympic qualification at the Asia Cycling Championships in Japan (January 16-25), badminton tournaments in Thailand (January 17-25) and Malaysia (January 19-24), and the fifth Southeast Asian Archery Championships in Myanmar (January 23-28).

HFF signs co-operation agreement with Olympique Lyonnais

Representatives of the HCM City Football Federation (HFF) and Olympique Lyonnais signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on co-operation between the two sides in France on Sunday.

According to the MoU, Lyon will help HCM City to train young footballers and develop futsal and women's football until 2020.

Chairman of Lyon, Jean Michel Aulas, said the club would try their best to help develop Vietnamese football.
