The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee and the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) Central Committee have agreed to foster future bilateral coordination, specially in raising public awareness of the significance of the Vietnam-Laos special relations.

During a meeting with LFNC Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane in Vientiane on April 7 as part of activities in her visit to Laos, VFF Vice President Truong Thi Ngoc Anh highlighted close and effective cooperation between the two agencies in recent times.

She reported the results of her talks with LFNC Vice Chairman Chanthavong Senamathmonty on the previous day, saying that the two sides discussed preparation to organise the International Conference of building Laos-Vietnam borderline of peace and friendship in Vietnam this year, and activities to celebrate the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties and 40 years since the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC).

She affirmed that the VFF will closely work with the LFNC to educate both nations’ people, especially youths, on the bilateral relations. 

For his part, Saysomphone Phomvihane stressed that Anh’s current visit to Laos contributes to strengthening the traditional relations, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and people. 

The 2017 is an important year for both nations as the two Parties, States and people are active in preparing events in the Laos-Vietnam Friendship and Solidarity Year 2017, he said. 

He expressed his hope that the VFF and the LFNC will continue cooperating to improve efficiency of their coordination. 

He suggested the VFF share experience in supervision activities with the LFNC, helping the Lao front better its supervision role. 

The host also agreed on plans debated at the talks relating to the organisation of a meeting of Cambodian, Lao, Vietnamese front leaders, and the International Conference of building Laos-Vietnam borderline of peace and friendship in Vietnam, affirming that he will attend and co-chair the events.

During her stay in Laos from April 5-8, VFF Vice President Truong Thi Ngoc Anh paid courtesy visits to Lao Defence Minister Chansamone Chanyalath and head of the Lao Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations Sounthone Sayachak.
