Top leaders of Vietnam on December 1 sent messages of congratulations to their respective Lao counterparts on the 41st National Day of Laos (December 2).

Accordingly, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, State President Tran Dai Quang, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan cabled their messages to Lao Party General Secretary and State President Bounnhang Vorachith, Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith and National Assembly Chairwoman Pany Yathotou.

The Vietnamese leaders congratulated the Lao people on their great achievements during the national construction and development process, with stable security and politics, high economic growth and improved spiritual and material life.

Particularly, Laos successfully organised the 10th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) as well as the election of deputies to the 8th National Assembly and people’s councils at municipal and provincial levels, they noted.

“We sincerely wish that Lao people, under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and General Secretary Bounnhang Vorachith, will continue gaining new and greater success in the implementation of the 10th National Party Congress Resolution and the socio-economic development plan for the 2016-2020 period, thus building a country of peace, independence, democracy, unification and prosperity,” wrote the message.

The same day, Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, and Head of the Central Party Committee’s Commission for External Relations Hoang Binh Quan also conveyed greetings to Lao Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith and Head of the LPRP Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Sunthon Xayachack.

Greetings to Laos’ 41st National Day





Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc and a Foreign Ministry delegation visited the Lao Embassy in Hanoi on December 1 to congratulate its staff on their country’s 41st National Day (December 2).

Ngoc congratulated Lao people on the great achievements they have made during the national construction and development over the past 41 years.

He expressed pleasure at the sound cooperation outcomes between the two Foreign Ministries over the past years, both bilaterally and at regional and international forums.

The Deputy FM asked the embassy to continue working closely with Vietnam’s ministries and sectors to prepare for the 39th meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Inter-Governmental Committee on bilateral cooperation as well as the 55th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations and 40 years of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos agreement on friendship and cooperation, which are all in 2017.

On his part, Lao ambassador to Vietnam Thongsavanh Phomvihane thanked leaders of Vietnam for always giving heed to reinforcing the Vietnam-Laos special friendship as well as support to the Lao Embassy.

He affirmed that the embassy will continue making contributions to the growth of bilateral ties in all fields. The diplomat also expressed belief that the Vietnam-Laos relations will be evergreen and everlastingly stable.
