Truong, a member of the Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) FC, joined Incheon United FC on a two-year deal on loan with an estimated transfer fee of US$300,000 last December. He was the first Vietnamese to play in the K-League.

The compensation for the remainder of Truong’s deal with Incheon United will be paid by Gangwon.

Gangwon are now led by HAGL’s former head coach Choi Yoon-gyun.

A representative of HAGL, Nguyen Tan Anh, said Gangwon pledged to give Truong more time on the pitch.

Truong was called up to the national U-19 team in 2013-2014 season, the U-23 team in 2015 and Viet Nam’s national team in 2016.

In addition to Truong, Gangwon also recruited striker Jung Jo-gook who was selected as the most valuable player of the K-League in 2016.
